Lanzarote airport is very close to almost everything: Arrecife is 5 km away and Puerto del Carmen, the main tourist hub, about 10 km away. Costa Teguise is about 15 km away and Playa Blanca, to the south, about 35 km away. In Playa Honda, a stone’s throw from the airport, there are a few hotels aimed at layovers or early-morning flights.
Where you sleep decides how you get around: if you stay in Arrecife, bus 22 or 23; in Puerto del Carmen or Playa Blanca, the 161/162; for Costa Teguise you have to change in Arrecife; and if the flight is very early or very late, a hotel near the airport saves the early start.
